The Universal Brotherhood Day was
celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Khatkhati on the 11th of
September 2023. The programme started with the Pushpanjali followed by
the lighting of the lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Sri Swmdwn Swargiary,
Sub Inspector, Khatkhati Police Station, accompanied by the Hon’ble Resource
Person, Sri Vinay Shanker Laorachhiya, the Principal, Discovery Senior
Secondary School, Bokajan and Sri Subash Kr. Verma, the Principal of the
Vidyalaya. It was followed by the chanting of the holy Omkara thrice and the
Mangalacharan by the teachers of the Vidyalaya.
The Welcome Song titled ‘Bhuvana Mandaley’ was sung by the
teachers of the Vidyalaya and the Chief Guest as well as the Resource Person of
the Programme were welcomed by a Phulam Gamocha each, Swamiji’s Photos
and some valuable books. After that, the Welcome Speech as well as the Kendra
Parichay was delivered by the Principal of the Vidyalaya. Thereafter, the Chief
Guest delivered his valuable speech with reference to an inspiring story meant
for the children. There were miscellaneous cultural programmes based on the
various tribes and communities of the North East and that of Gujarat. A special
programme on the demonstration of various steps of yoga was presented by our
students being guided by Kumari Neelu Karishma Das, Ph.D. Scholar and a Yoga
Instructor, VK HARI ILC Project.
Master Sarbon Thapa (Class-V) and Master
Ashish Chetry (Class-VI), presented the Chicago Speech (on the stage), being
delivered by Swami Vivekananda (on the 11th of September 1893 at
Chicago, America). Sri Vinay Shanker Laorachhiya, the Resource Person of the
programme delivered his speech on the Significance of the Day. Specifically, he
focused on the ‘Value of Brotherhood’ that Swami Vivekananda had mentioned in
his various speeches.
The overall programme was successful
because of the active participation and wholehearted involvement of each and
every student and teaching and non-teaching staff member of the Vidyalaya. In
the Vote of Thanks, Kumari Sandigdha Deb, an Asst. Teacher, expressed her
gratitude towards the Hon’ble Chief Guest and the Resource Person for their
valuable presence and wholehearted support in making the programme successful.
She also expressed her gratitude, on behalf of the Vidyalaya Parivar, towards
all staff members, parents, guardians, well-wishers as well all the Kendra karyakarta-s
who were present on the occasion.
Last but not the least, the eloquence of
the Anchor, Sri Jayanta Topadar, an Assistant Teacher, had fruitfully helped to
connect the audience, the participants and the sequence of the programme as per
the agenda. In the programme, around 200 people including students, parents,
guardians, well-wishers, Kendra Karyakarta-s and the staff members were
present on the occasion.
